Real legos

I was in Singapore recently, and while I was riding the East West Line of Singapore MRT somewhere near Clementi, I saw this ugly building outside the window :

Singtel

Apparently, it’s just an office tower for Singapore Telecommunications Limited. Now you may have heard about the Lego Architecture product range of Legos, which recreates famous architectural landmarks such as the Fallingwater House, the Solomon R. Guggenheim museum, etc. in legos. It so happens that Lego has released a set for recreating the Marina Bay Sands complex: you can check it here (and a review here). Incidentally, Marina Bay Sands was designed by Moshe Safdie, about whom I already talked regarding Habitat 67 in a previous post.

But come on Lego ! You could have saved yourself a lot of trouble by releasing a set with the Singtel tower. I even took a break from abstract legos and designed it for you :

Sure, it’s ugly. But hey, have you seen anything simpler ? Oh that’s right, you already have the Empire State Building and the Rockefeller Center.
